International Sound Like A Pirate Day — 19th September 2011 will be celebrated on Sun 18th
This auspicious day is highly noted at the café, giving John the opportunity to replay one of his favourite jokes and many bad pirate pick up lines … guest appearances by Pirate Dave in full pirate regalia complete with flintlock pistol and gold dubloons to the delight all who attend. Staff and customers also to participate by donning appropriate (or inappropriate) dressup and generally behaving in a bawdy fashion

Eco Divers Update
Thank you to all those who contributed in the first EVER 'coffee offset scheme'! The Eco Divers now have their solar powered mobile response and education trailer. Already doing visits to schools and environmental venues, building awareness of how we can make a difference.

Eco friendly cups and lids
Cafe Splat has sourced and now uses compostable cups and compostable lids for all take away coffees. Just one more step towards looking after our planet and our oceans.
Eco friendly drinking straws
Our straws no longer collapse like the paper ones, but are also compostable. Much better for the environment and wont choke the fishes or pelicans.
